Bazz SalmonWelcome to Bazzflyfishing.com

Sometimes you get those crazy ideas that evolve into something much bigger and better than you first expected it to. This site started out as one of those ideas.

About Bazz

My name is Bassel even tho most people know me as Bazz. I have been flyfishing for around 20 years and really can´t think of anything that beats a day by the river high up north, with a nice rod in my hand.
I spend alot of days and nights out there trying to become a better fisherman and teacher, and the "strike" is just the bonus of what the experience out there gives.

I work for the danish flyfishing labet Scierra with tackle-design and as flycasting instructor here in Sweden.
I was truly honoured when they asked me to join the crew, and having the chance to be a part of a team that want to make the best gear out there is fun, challenging and exiting!
If there is something that i like more than being by the river, then its to teach. During my flycasting clinics I´ve seen people go from fustration to pure happiness as their loops becomes tight and narrow.
Those smiles this brings is something that drives me to try and do my best to be and become the best I can be as a flycasting instructor.
"To teach is to learn twice" - thats what a good friend and instructor once told me, and its all true. I learn so much from the people i meet and enjoy and appreciate every encounter with a fellow flyfisher.

For booking of flycasting courses, please look at the "contact" section.

Photographing is a big interest I have as well. During my fishingtrips I always make sure I have my camera with me. Most of the photos you see on this site that i shot are avalible in print. If you see something you like, please contact me and we´ll work something out!

About Bazzflyfishing.com - The site

As I said it started as a crazy idea when I noticed how hard it was for people to discuss flycasting technuiqe here in sweden.
When someone that was new to this sport asked a question on forums that had to do with casting technuiqe, they often got flamed. Answers like -"Why bother to train, anyone can cast 10 meters and most fishes are caught within that distance" wont help a guy who´s looking for info of how to make distancecasts easier.
I think that this is sad and that flycasting is something worth taking a deeper look at than that.
Things are getting better here in Sweden when it comes to this, and i truly think that this site has been a part of it, but we still have a long way to go.
This site was born to give everyone a forum where its ok to ask anything from the simplest of question down to crazy discussion about things like how the loop morphs, loopformations and the physics of the cast.
The site started to grow fast, and soon we had lots of members that is anything from beginners down to some of the best flycasters, instructors and flytiers in the world around here to help and inspire those that seek.
We decided to make this a international site & forum with two languages, english and swedish. A great way for us in scandinavia to meet and learn to know our neighbours oversea.

This site was created for those who need help and those who want to help others.
I truly hope that you enjoy being around and take deeper look into the forum/community.
Its with the members the true knowledge is!

Best regards Bassel "Bazz"
